Lake Bronson

Obituary

David Leon Danielson, of Lake Bronson, MN, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, with family by his side.

Those who knew him will always remember him as kind, funny and a private person.

David was born May 1,1947, to Guy and Grace (Haugeland) Danielson in Hallock, MN.

David graduated from Lake Bronson High School in the class of 1965. He served in the US Marines and served in Vietnam and received an Honorable Discharge.

David was the owner of Lakeside Sporting Goods for many years. The store sold fishing supplies, food, and had the very popular mini golf that so many enjoyed and still talk about today.

David was a long-time employee of the Kittson County Historical Museum. He built and modified many of the exhibits and made the wood name plaques throughout the museum. The museum was a very special place to David, and he enjoyed his work and meeting people that visited.

After selling his store, David built a home in Lake Bronson that he enjoyed with his beloved German Shepherds that he had over time.

David was a long-time Lake Bronson resident, leaving only briefly for his military service. He had many loyal friends that he could call on at any time for assistance that he greatly appreciated.

David is survived by his sister, Phyllis (Danielson) Prosser of Minneapolis, MN, brother, Dennis (Ruth) Danielson of Vista, CA, and sister, Claudia (Kirby Johnson) Danielson of Saint Paul, MN.

David was preceded in death by his dad, Guy Danielson, his mother, Grace Danielson, and his brother-in-law, Gene Prosser.

A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson, MN, at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Kittson County Historical Museum at 332 E Main St, Lake Bronson, MN 56734.
