Clarice Quade, 91, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Saturday, October 17th, 2015. Clarice Margaret Stark was born November 18, 1923 in Walsh County, North Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Alma (Lykken) Stark. While in high school she was a spelling bee champion and played drums for the school band. She graduated from Grafton High School and the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. Clarice was employed in the Grafton High School office and then in the Grafton Deaconess Hospital as receptionist and bookkeeper. She was a member of the Grafton City Parade Band and a member of the Mizpah Chapter of the Eastern Star. Clarice and Ervin Quade were married in Grafton Lutheran Church on August 6, 1947. They lived in St. Thomas, North Dakota. Clarice was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Study Club. In 1950 they moved to Hallock, Minnesota. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, WELCA, Wednesday morning Bible Study, hospital auxiliary, co-chairperson of the 1969 Cancer Crusade (Clarice was a cancer survivor), the Kittson County Museum and Hallock Senior Center. Clarice loved antiques and collectables, served as family genealogist, Bible and Cub Scout leader, and was an excellent photographer. Ervin passed away on March 15, 2006. Clarice is survived by sons, Lyle, Hallock and Robert (Jandy), Crookston; a granddaughter, Rhonda, Grand Forks; nieces, nephews and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and other relatives. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Landstad Cemetery, Auburn, North Dakota. Visitation will be held at the church for one prior to the funeral service.
