Clarice Hanson, 80, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Clarice Lucille Stromgren was born January 11, 1933 on the family farm near Lake Bronson, Minnesota to Carl and Ruby (Souder) Stromgren. Clarice was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a graduate of Lake Bronson High School. She went on to attend Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, North Dakota. On June 10, 1956 she married Rodney Hanson at Lake Bronson. They settled in Hallock and Clarice worked at Northwestern State Bank until her retirement in 1998. Rodney passed away in 1989. Clarice was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school at Two River Church for many years, She enjoyed traveling, baking, cards, ceramics, knitting/crocheting, baseball, dancing and music. Clarice loved spending time with her family and friends. Family members include three sons; Kevin (Bonita) Hanson, Hallock, Roland (Marla) Hanson, Lake Bronson and Scott (Dawn) Hanson, Elbert, CO; grandchildren, Shana (Jason) Wilson, Chris Rice, Tyler (Hannah) Hanson, Brandon Hanson and Colton Hanson; great grandchildren, Breck Wilson and Reagan Wilson; a brother, Wayne (Laurie) Stromgren, Strandquist, MN; and sisters-in-law, Gula Stromgren, Strandquist, Janice Stromgren, Mandan, ND, Marie Stromgren, Murfreesboro, TN and Doris Hanson, Karlstad, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodney; a granddaughter, Tara; and siblings, Arlene, Reuben, Roger and Ronald. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, special music. Casket bearers will be Kevin Hanson, Roland Hanson, Scott Hanson, Chris Rice, Tyler Hanson, Brandon Hanson and Colton Hanson.
