Charles Sigwald Remme, 77, of Grafton, ND, passed away peacefully at Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton on Friday, May 8, 2026, with family by his side.

Charles was born on November 18, 1948, to Sigwald M. and Alice (Brooks) Remme, in Vita, Manitoba in Canada. As a child, he lived in Lancaster, MN, Drayton, ND, and eventually Pembina, ND. He graduated from Pembina High School in 1966 and then went on to attend Mayville State University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in History in 1970. Following his education, he joined the Army, from which he was later honorably discharged. Over the years, he worked many different jobs at the Post Office, at Hugo's, and as a manager at Leever's in Crookston.

Charles is survived by his two children, Julie Remme Peitier and Timothy J Remme; his three sisters, Alice Ivers, Helena, MT, Patricia Feltman, Round Rock, TX, and Mary Remme, Grand Forks, ND; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Lee Remme (1974-2024) and his sister, Clara Nelson (1955-2019).

A private graveside service will be held in Skjeberg Lutheran Cemetery on July 7 at 1:00 p.m.
