Cecelia Wilhelnina Landowski, 81, of Drayton, ND passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 19, 2014 at their summer home in Warroad, MN. Cecelia was born March 4, 1933 to Edward and Leokadia (Klava) Marciniak on the family farm near Bowesmont, ND. Cecelia attended school in Bowesmont and Drayton where she graduated in 1951. On November 23, 1953 Cecelia was married to Ross Glen Landowski at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Drayton, ND. They began their married life in Drayton, later moving Grand Forks, ND and Moorhead, MN. Together they raised 5 children. Cecelia and Ross returned home to Drayton in 1973. They enjoyed spending time at their summer home at Lake of the Woods and their winter home in Mesa, AZ for several years. Cecelia enjoyed working at various businesses and loved to work on the family farm. She especially enjoyed her work when she and Ross started Landowski Furniture. Cecelia was actively involved and deeply committed to her Catholic faith and served as organist at St. Edward's Catholic Church for many years. Cecelia was happiest working in her beautiful flower beds. She also couldn't pass up a good game of cards. Cecelia will be remembered for her love of family & friends, her good cooking, her generous spirit, kind heart and quick wit. Cecelia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ross, Drayton,ND; children, Gregory Landowski, Ramsey, MN, Julie (Kris) Ferguson, Drayton, ND, Jeffrey Landowski, Drayton, ND and Susan (Todd) Walls, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Daughter-in-law, Taryn Landowski, Drayton, ND; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Ellen Marciniak, Drayton, ND and Brother-in-law, Tom (Judy) Landowski, Anoka, MN. Cecelia was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Landowski; her parents, her 8 siblings and 1 grandson. Funeral services are scheduled Thursday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward's Catholic Church, Drayton. Interment will be in St. Edward's Cemetery. Fr. Joseph Okogba and Fr. August Gothman, presiding; Cathy Tweten, organist and Dana Tisdale, soloist; gift bearers, Megan Walls and Melissa Walls. Casket bearers, Jeffrey Ferguson, Jordan Ferguson, Joseph Landowski, Brandon Morter, Mason Walls and Matthew Walls. Honorary casket bearers will be Jerry Bratlie, Roger Common, John Gudajtes, Jim Huerd and Gaylord Solem. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
