Obituary

Carl B. Sandahl, 44, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota passed away at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls on Monday morning, July 1, 2013. Carl was born March 24, 1969 at Bemidji, Minnesota to Bruce and Diane (Saurdiff) Sandahl. The family moved to Lancaster, Minnesota in 1970. Carl graduated from Lancaster High School in 1987. He attended Moorhead State Technical College and graduated from their carpentry program. On September 9, 1995 he married Leanna Lindstrom at Lake Bronson, Minnesota. Carl did construction work until 2005 when he started in the PDC department at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls. Carl enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad, Bruce and was passing that knowledge and enjoyment on to his beloved son, Little Carl". Family and friends were at the center of his life; he will be dearly missed. Family members include his wife, Leanna and son, Carl Jr.; parents, Bruce and Diane, Lancaster; his sister, Sonja (Kevin) Klein, Hallock; a brother-in-law, Brent (Paula) Lindstrom, East Grand Forks,MN; nieces, Kennedy, Peyton and Lauren Klein and nephews, Tanner and Tyler Lindstrom. Carl's grandmother, Elayne Sandahl passed away just hours after he did on July 1st. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Allan Sandahl and maternal grandparents, Paul and Sally Saurdiff. Funeral services are Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church at Lancaster, Minnesota. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
