Obituary

Brady Dean Phillips, 29, of Oklee, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Brady was born to Dean and Lezlee (Urlaub) Phillips on January 26, 1996. He spent his early years in Lancaster, MN, until, at the age of 6, he and his family moved to Mesa, AZ. The family lived in Mesa for 16 years, where Brady attended school. In 2015, Brady graduated from Sky Line High School.

After his graduation, the family decided to move closer to home, so they bought a place in Mentor, MN. After moving back, Brady decided to attend Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, MN. He earned his associate's degree in automotive mechanics and was in the top of his class at Bemidji. After he graduated, he held various mechanic jobs, most notably at Christian Motors in Fertile, MN, and more recently, at the Cenex Station in Oklee, MN. He found his passion in mechanics and enjoyed his job. At the time of his death, Brady was living in Oklee with his girlfriend of 8 years, Kacie Jarvie, and their dog, Axel, who was Brady's baby – a smart pitbull who Brady taught many tricks.

Aside from spending time with his family, his girlfriend, his dog, and his many friends, Brady loved to be outdoors. You could often find him hunting, fishing, kayaking, enjoying bonfires, or doing anything else that involved being outside. He was an all-around outdoorsman.

Brady is survived by his parents, Dean and Lezlee Phillips; his grandparents, Russell and Mary Phillips and Mary Lou and Leo Urlaub; aunts and uncles, Jeff (Michele) Urlaub, Kim (Mike) Schoneberger, Darren (Melinda) Phillips; his girlfriend, Kacie Jarvie; and numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held for Brady on Monday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster, MN. Visitation will be held at the church for an hour before the service. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lancaster.
