Obituary

Bonnie Pearson, 80, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock early Thursday morning, May 2, 2013. Bonnie Joy Dexter was born October 22, 1932 in Orleans, Minnesota, the daughter of Darius and Wilma (Cameron) Dexter. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Bonnie attended Rose Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1950. On November 26, 1949 she married Willard Pearson at Stephen, Minnesota. They settled in Thompson Township of Kittson County. Bonnie worked at the Sterling Store, Gullander Hardware, Kittson Memorial Hospital, cooked for the sheriff's office from 1970 to 1974, worked at Services for Children With Handicaps in the courthouse and retired from there when she turned 65. Bonnie was very active in the Hallock Community Theater, directing and acting in many productions. She enjoyed baking, sewing and working part-time in retirement. Bonnie served on the board of the Hallock Senior Center and was a member of the Eagles and Legion Auxiliaries. Willard passed away on December 28, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, JoyBeth (Andy) Olson, Hallock; three sons, Craig (Lana Jacobson) Pearson, Hallock; Kirk Pearson, Hallock and Theron Pearson, Warroad, MN; ten grandchildren, Richie, Kelsey, Kameron, Max, Madelyn, Miranda, Tyelyn, Aaron, Andee Joy and Addison; two great grandchildren, Mylo and Koya Joy; two sisters, Faye (Walter) Redfield, Lewistown, MT and Birdie Chapin, Billings, MT; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; brothers, Luverne , Garnet, Everett, Scott, Dwaine, Darl and infant brother, Eugene. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church at Hallock. Interment will be in Union Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, organist with special music by Laurie Johnson, Val Blomquist, Michelle Blomquist, Morgan Blomquist, Dana Lofstrom and Denise Blomquist. Casket bearers will be Steve Blomquist, Dennis Diamond, Todd Pearson, Richard Lambert, Brian Anderson and Jon Blomquist. Visitation will be held at Austin Funeral Chapel in Halllock on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
