Blanche Marie Barrett, 86, of Fisher, MN, died on November 28th in Riverview Memory Care Center in Crookston, MN. Blanche was born to Nels and Gladys Stallmo on January 1, 1927 in Erie MN. She graduated in East Grand Forks in 1946. She married Lawrence "Buzz" Barrett in 1948. They lived in Minnesota all their lives. After marrying Buzz, they lived in East Grand Forks until moving to Warroad in 1962. She was a homemaker most of her life, in addition to working at Polaris for 20 years. After retirement, they enjoyed trips to Alaska, Washington and California to visit family and friends. Buzz and Blanche moved to Fisher in 1999. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, crocheting and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Buzz; children - Roger, Grand Forks, ND; Duane (Kathy), Wasilla, Alaska; Vernon (Kathy), Middle River, MN; Sharon, Grand Forks, ND; Brenda Ficklin, East Grand Forks, MN and Teresa (Jeff) Tangen, Gilby, ND. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a sister Merna (Len) Hill, Sun City CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don, son Larry, and daughter Carol. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 10:30 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Keri Shelton, presiding. Special music will be provided by Galen Nordin.
