Betty Treumer, 71, of Grand Forks and formerly of Hallock, Minnesota passed away in Grand Forks on Saturday, January 16, 2016.  Betty Ann Sorenson was born February 27, 1944 in Hallock to Paul and Dorothy (McIlraith) Sorenson.  Betty grew up in Hallock and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  She was a 1962 graduate of Hallock High School and went on to attend Moorhead State College.  On August 24, 1963 she was united in marriage to Gary Treumer in Hallock.  Betty worked at the Kittson County Courthouse, the Flower Shop in Hallock and commuted to Grafton, North Dakota to work at the state school for several years.  She moved to East Grand Forks and Grand Forks, working at Northeast Human Services Center, Green's Garden Center and Development Homes.  Betty retired in 2014.

Betty is survived by a son, David (Alicia) Treumer, Hallock; daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Strom, Grand Forks, Beth (Keith) Blocker, Los Angeles, CA and Dianne (Jeremy) Dahl, Rochert, MN; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Treumer, Taryn Treumer, Michael Lee, Stacy Lee, Jenna Lee, Hayden Blocker, Tyler Phillips, Lucas Phillips, Tanner Phillips and Emily Dahl; sisters, Alice Sedenquist, Hallock and Janice (Paul) Stroom, Roseville, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Paula.

Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.  Rev. Peter Coen-Tuff, presiding; Lynn Liepold, pianist. Honorary casket bearers will be Betty's grandchildren. A committal will be held in Hallock this spring.
