Betty Gay Stewart, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 29th, 2022 at the Evergreens Ecumen Memory Care Center in Moorhead, MN.

Betty was born on June 10, 1940 to Harold and Aileen (Gast) Lang in Hallock, MN. She was baptized and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hallock. She graduated from Hallock High School in 1958.

Except for the 12 years with husband in the Air force, Betty spent much of her life in Hallock. She had a variety of jobs, the most rewarding of which being the years she spent as a CNA at Kittson Memorial Nursing Home caring for others. She loved when people came to visit and always had a sweet snack on hand.

Betty also enjoyed the outdoors, walking down the sidewalk or sitting on a bench in the warm sunshine. She was an animal lover and where she could, had a dog, cat or both. She loved to see the grandkids and you never left without a hug.

Betty is survived by her children: sons Ron (Linda) Flemming, Mark Flemming, Paul (Susan) Flemming; daughter Amy (Randy) Burkel; grandchildren Kristen (Andy) Ellenson, Courtney (Jon) Neubauer, Ryan Flemming, Krystal (Anthony) DaForno, Amber (Greg Maher) Flemming, Mike Flemming, Candace (Mike) Lindahl, Brittany (Daniel) Hoggatt, Damon (Mia Brunelle) Burkel, Tony and Jessica Burkel; and her many great grandchildren.

Betty is proceeded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Lang.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock, Minnesota.
