Audrey J. Bockwitz, 85, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Monday, May 6, 2019.

Audrey Jayne Rice was born to Olaf and Ida Rice August 29th, 1933, in Crookston, MN.  Audrey moved around in her early years following her dad and mom as her dad worked odd jobs. The family finally settled in Thief River Falls, MN, where Audrey graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1952.  Shortly after graduation and her 19th birthday, she married August Rabe of Hallock, MN.  From this marriage she had four children: Theresa (Richard) Rigsby of Yuba City CA, Debra Dahlin of Ulen MN, James (Kathy) Bockwitz of Fergus Falls MN, and Mark Rabe of Lake City MN. Audrey spent her years raising her children and volunteering for school and church functions.  She occasionally worked as a home health aide and motel housekeeper.  Later in life,  Audrey married Virgil Bockwitz of Humboldt, MN.  From this marriage, she had two children, Virginia Bockwitz of Topeka, KS and Karen (Pete) Danilaitis of Mt Juliet, TN.  Audrey is also survived by her sister-in-law Carolyn Rice of Bloomington MN, her 4 stepchildren, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Ida Rice, her brother David Rice, her husbands August Rabe and Virgil Bockwitz and granddaughter Sadie Didrikson.She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
