Anita May Hopkins (Brown) passed away on October 30, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to others. Born on March 17, 1936, in Liverpool, England, Anita's journey through life was marked by selflessness, resilience, and a profound love for family and community.

Anita's early years were marked by the challenges of World War II, which instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and a profound understanding of the importance of caring for those in need. At the age of 18, she left her home in England to start anew in the United States.

As a mother of four, Anita's love and care extended far beyond her own family. She had a special affection for children and spent her life selflessly serving and nurturing them. For the majority of her adult life, Anita called Las Vegas, Nevada, her home, where she dedicated herself to a career that epitomized her character. Through the state of Nevada youth services, she worked tirelessly with both troubled and disabled children, offering them guidance, hope, and a sense of belonging. Anita's ability to connect with these young souls and make a difference in their lives made her an inspiration to all who knew her.

Anita spent her final year in Drayton, North Dakota, surrounded by some of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed all the time she was able to spend with them and every moment with her was cherished.

Predeceased by her parents, Stanley Brown and May Alt, and her grandson, Robert (Bobby) Holland, Anita leaves behind a profound legacy of love. She is survived by her children, Janice Holland, Robert Holland, Stanley Holland, and David Hopkins (Brandi). She was a cherished grandmother to Amanda, Rodney, Samuel, Trevor, Kacy, Sara, Brittany, Joshua, Emmanuel, Daniellia, Legacy, and Legend. Anita also leaves behind 21 great-grandchildren.

Anita will be remembered as a loving mother and a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Austin Funeral Chapel, Drayton. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
