Alan James Saga, age 70, formerly of Mentor, MN, passed away on May 12, 2025, under the care of Hospice at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.

Alan was born on July 20th, 1954, to Leland H. and Valora Saga of Mentor. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor and attended Mentor Public School. He enlisted in the army in 1972 and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1974. After his discharge, he went to work for his father with Saga Well Drilling. He continued with the water industry until his health forced him to retire and move to Halstad, MN.

A memorial graveside service, with military honors, will be held for Alan at Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Mentor, MN, on July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Father Dave Super of Mentor will conduct the service. Refreshments will be served following the service at the Mentor Community Hall until 2:00 p.m. All of Alan's friends are invited to join his family to celebrate Alan's life.

Alan is survived by his son, Jesse of Fargo, ND, and siblings, Michael (Sue) Gustafson, Milford (Lorna) Gustafson, Linda Rodela, Julie Brookshire, Leland S. (Carol) Saga, Tom (Patrick Lochwood) Saga, Shirley (Don) Simonson, Tim (Phyllis) Saga, and Lorene (Ken) Grant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland H. and Valora (Bratton) Saga; sister, Bertha (Berdie) Payment; brothers-in-law, James Payment, Glen Brookshire, and Kim Olson.
